"1000" by Jean Patou

Why 1000? Some may ask. In fact, labeling or naming using number is a normal practice in the field of scientific rather than in fashion design. According to the house of Patou, 1000 is the numbers of submissions which were rejected before the scent was chosen. The scent which makes the "1000" has become one of the most "hard-to-find". The house of Patou also revealed that the scent was made from a jasmine essence which take over 7 million flowers to produce a kilogram. This hard-labor work has received its payoff since the "1000", introduced in 1972,  has been dubbed as "the essence of extravagance".
